BIKiNNOV is a member of the Technical Commission for Standardization CT 224 - Sustainable Cities and Communities

BIKiNNOV – Bike Value Innovation Center Association, recognized by the National Agency for Innovation as a technology and innovation center for the two-wheel and soft mobility sector and already a member of the Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ), was approved as a member of the Technical Commission for Standardization CT 224 – Sustainable Cities and Communities last July.

CT224 aims to draw up and/or monitor standards/other normative documents and issue opinions in the field of Sustainable Cities and Communities, providing Portuguese organizations with normative documents in Portuguese.

Joining CT 224 – Sustainable Cities and Communities represents an opportunity for BIKiNNOV to strengthen its networking and closely monitor the development of the international regulatory framework and emerging trends in the area of cities, and to actively contribute to the development and application of standards that promote urban digitalization, resource management and sustainable planning, in line with the environmental, social and economic sustainability needs of modern cities and in response to the challenges of smooth mobility.

Gil Nadais, Executive Director of BIKiNNOV said that “we are particularly interested in contributing to the development and application of standards that promote the digitalization of cities, urban planning and design, resource management, that proactively respond to climate change and the challenges of soft mobility. Our participation is motivated by the opportunity to collaborate with other leading entities

in formulating innovative solutions that address the most pressing issues facing our cities. In addition, our experience and specific knowledge in the two-wheel sector will provide a valuable perspective in the technical discussions, ensuring that the interests and specificities of this sector are taken into account in the regulations developed.”

This process is part of the Core Funding Program of the Technology and Innovation Centre, the Mission Interface of the National Innovation Agency (ANI), Action Line 1 – Smart Cities, Action Line 2 – Standards Watch and Action Line 5 – Promotion and Networks, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Program (RRP) and the NextGeneration EU Fund.
