BIKiNNOV supports the 43rd ABIMOTA GP
The official presentation of the 43rd edition of the ABIMOTA Grand Prix, a race reserved for athletes in the Elite and Under-23 categories, took place on May 30 at the Águeda Arts Center.
The ceremony began with a presentation of global trends in the two-wheeled sector, in which BIKiNNOV’s Executive Director, Gil Nadais, presented the Technology and Innovation Center project, which is taking its first steps in the municipality of Águeda, but intends to expand worldwide.
He also presented the CTI’s ongoing projects, funded under the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR) and the European Union’s (EU) NextGeneration Fund: “AM2R – Mobilizing Agenda for Business Innovation in the Two-Wheeler Sector” with intervention in WP4 (Components, Tools and Materials for the Production of Two-Wheeler Vehicles), WP8 (Digitalization and Integrated and Sustainable Management of the Value Chain in the Two-Wheeler Sector), WP9 (Technology and Innovation Centre); and, the Technology and Innovation Centre Core Funding Programme, from the Mission Interface of the National Innovation Agency (ANI).
BIKiNNOV – Bike Value Innovation Center Association is one of the entities supporting the organization of the 43rd edition of the ABIMOTA Grand Prix.
Description of the stages
The competition will start on Friday, the ninth, in Proença-a-Nova, where an individual time trial will be contested over a distance of 7,600 meters, the first of the 343.4 kilometers planned for the entire race.
On June 10, the 175km second stage will be run, linking Oleiros to Vouzela. The symbolic start will be at the Oleiros Municipal Council at 10.55am. The Real Start is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in Oleiros, next to the cut-off for Cancinos.
At Km 18, the third category mountain finish line will take place at Alto da Portela do Fojo. A new, third-category mountain finish line will take place at Km 41.65 km in Alto de Alvares. The first Meta Volante will be in Góis, in front of the Volunteer Fire Brigade, at 59.3 km.
After 70.5 km there will be another third category Meta Montanha, at Alto de Olho Marinho. Meta Bolinhas at kilometer 89.6 in São Pedro de Alva, in front of the parish council. Third category Meta Montanha in Alto de Felgueira at 112.6 km
Alto do Caramulo will host the second category Meta Montanha at kilometer 141.1. Meta Autarquias in Oliveira de Frades, in front of Eurolafões when 163.4 km have been completed
Final finish line in Vouzela, next to the town hall, when 175 km have been completed.
The third stage will be 160.8 km long, linking Anadia to Águeda
Symbolic Start next to the National Velodrome / Two Wheels Museum in Sangalhos at 11:25 a.m. The Real Start will take place at Largo da Igreja in Sangalhos at 11:30 a.m.
At kilometer 31.6, the finish line will take place in Amoreira da Gândara, in front of Forjaço.
The Vagos Meta Autarquias will be at 47.3 km in front of the BV and Pastelaria Centro.
There will be a new flyover when 61.2 km have been completed, in Costa Nova, in front of the market. At kilometer 104 there will be a first pass through the finish line in Águeda.
A flyover at kilometer 107.5 in Mourisca do Vouga, in front of the Ethnographic Museum. At kilometer 116.9 there will be a finish line in Albergaria-a-Velha.
The parish of Talhadas, Sever do Vouga, will be the site of the second category Meta Montanha when 140.3 km have been completed.
The final finish line will be in Águeda, on Rua Joaquim Valente de Almeida, in front of the Adolfo Portela School and the GNR post. At that point, the 160.8 km of the stage and the 343.4 km of the entire race will have been completed.
